The Benefits of Exercise

Everyone should do some exercise. Even if all you can do is lift some weights for a few minutes a day, or do some squats. You don’t need a gym membership to exercise properly. Here are some of the benefits of exercise.

Fitness is an obvious advantage of exercising. Regular exercise keeps your body fit and healthy. The more exercise you do then the more you can do. Physical fitness goes a long way too. The stamina and strength you get from exercise can be used in any situation.

Weight Loss

Weight loss is another one of the obvious advantages of exercise. It’s also the main reason people exercise. They want to lose a little weight. What most people don’t realise about exercise for weight loss is that they don’t need to do a ton of cardio to lose weight. You don’t need to walk on a treadmill for an hour. Strength exercises like lifting weights, sit ups and squats are also pretty good for weight loss.

When you put on weight you tend to gain a bit of a paunch. Your skin gets a little stretched. When you exercise you bring back some of the elasticity in your skin. You bring down the paunch and stop the skin from stretching. Weight loss purely through dieting can leave your skin still a mess. You need exercise for healthy skin.

Exercise by itself is a real mood booster. It feels great to exercise. When you’re done you feel a real sense of accomplishment and your brain is firing happiness all over the place. Exercising brings down depression and makes you happier. It can also make you calmer as you get out all of your frustrations and everything bothering you through exercise. Taking a walk on a sunny day is even more of a mood booster thanks to the empowering rays of the sun.

It may not sound like it but regular physical exercise leaves you feeling more energised, not tired. It also leaves you more energised during the rest of the day. Exercise bolsters your cardiovascular system and improves the health of your heart and lungs. The healthier your heart and lungs are the more efficient they are, meaning you have the energy you need to get through your day.

Regular exercise keeps you healthy in more ways than one. It also empowers your immune system and brings down blood pressure. No matter how much you way being active increases levels of the good cholesterol in your body. Exercising brings down your risk of heart disease and can manage a number of other problems including stroke, arthritis, diabetes and even some kinds of cancer.

You should never neglect exercise or doubt the power of it. You don’t even need to do a lot to get the benefits. Remember as well that the more you do the more you can do.

Tip: Start out small if you have to and work your way up. No one runs a marathon their first day, but even an infant can walk.
